Ashtanga Yoga

Developed in the 20th century, Ashtanga Yoga is also known as Classical Yoga and based on '8-limb practice': posture, breath control, meditation, concentration, moral observance, inner integrity, sensory withdrawal, and contemplation. This Yoga style focuses on improving one's strength, flexibility, stamina and circulation. Ashtanga Yoga connects each movement with breath control. Poses are typically held for 5 seconds and often supplemented with Vinyasa movements (chaturanga - up / down dog - a sequence of plank) in between each pose. Ashtanga discipline is known as one of the most challenging style of Yoga.
