Hello, my name is Lina Nilsen. I obtained my certification in personal training from the accredited Cooper Institute in Dallas, Texas in 2009. I graduated from Texas A&M University in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. I currently teach a 12-week personal training certification course for the National Academy of Sports Medicine, of which I hold another personal training certification.
I have a continuously expanding background in several areas of fitness. Growing up, I actively involved myself in sports such as basketball, long distance running, golf, and powerlifting. My ultimate passion for helping others is through corrective exercise; this method realigns posture, introduces flexibility, develops muscular symmetry, all with the final goal of preventing injury. My programs are designed to accomplish several different goals in each single workout. You won't just be losing fat and getting toned, you will be absent of any postural deficiencies and feel the most fit and strongest you have been in your life.
Throughout my life, I have acquired a passion for fitness and a true desire to inspire others to push their limits and exceed their potential. Les Brown once asked, why do people, even the most successful athletes, use personal trainers? He answered, "because you can't see the picture when you are in the frame. You can't see the fight when you are in it." People need someone to show them the finish line, because it will be further away than they set for themselves. That's why I am here, to set the finish line in your workouts for you.
I have literally been my own experiment in discovering the proper way to integrate and maintain a healthy lifestyle, from fad diets to the "eat anything I want and hope for a miracle" diet. From the start of my fitness career, my belief system has undergone several changes and evolved into what it is today. As a result of my own trial and error, I believe I have finally discovered the keys to success, and this I am eager to share with others.
I have two simple rules to follow in order to achieve the results one desires. First, one must give 100% and do whatever it takes, as long as it is the healthy way; hard work is the foundation for success. Second, I believe proper nutrition is 70% of the journey. Healthy bodies are made in the kitchen; eating clean, unprocessed, nutritious, whole foods will supply the body with the fuel it was meant to utilize and will also ignite its metabolism. I will use these rules as the basis for which I design your exercise program and propel you to reach your fitness goals.
I have an extreme systematic and progressive style of training which can progress virtually any client to any goal. I will only introduce new exercises and intensities your body is truly prepared to endure. My first goal is to prevent injuries and my second goal is to get you to yours! I will teach you how to chase perfection, be consistent, work smart, and through it all – see results! Remember, the workouts don't become easier, you just get stronger!
